Welcome to New Zealand and to a fascinating, innovative, and truly different conference experience.

Join us in our beautiful country in the South Pacific and let us share with you the features that make New Zealand unique as a host country for visitors from every corner of the globe and as a home for vision and commitment in gifted education.

We plan a programme that will interest and enrich every delegate, provide generously for the sharing and discussion of ideas, and offer novel experiences both within and beyond the conference to extend the thinking and understanding delegates take away with them.

We propose that the conference’s central theme should be “The soul of giftedness”, in other words, a focus on the emotional, social, spiritual, cultural and ethical development of the gifted young human being, and on the significance this has for the individual and for humanity. We believe this reflects current directions in the field, and that it is a very timely and appropriate theme at this point in history. Keynote speakers will be invited from amongst those who are making a significant contribution to international dialogue on this topic. Programme strands will allow for philosophical, research and practical contributions from other presenters. But we also plan to use some special features of New Zealand itself, both to support the central theme and to enhance the whole conference experience.
